A group hiked to remote mountain lakes and fished. The witness heard branches breaking and a very loud wood-on-wood knock, then smelled a strong foul stench. Pine cones landed sideways next to the witness and large tracks were seen in smashed grass, with a sense of being watched and shadowed until leaving the plateau. No creature was seen.

Over several years in the 1970s a large smelly intruder rummaged garbage, trashed yards and broke into houses taking food. One family was visited almost nightly and treated it as routine. Residents locked doors, dogs acted cowardly, and meetings were held.

Two trappers set up camp to trap beaver and found their camp demolished and human-like tracks around it. At night they heard rustling, smelled a foul stench, fired a shot and heard something flee. After separating in the morning, one man found his partner dead with a broken neck and bite marks and fled, blaming a wild man.
