Over several nights in December the witness and their partner sat on their home lanai at night and heard a loud cry or scream, rock-clacking sounds, and stones or pebbles striking the house and lanai, and noticed a strange unknown odor for two days. No creature was seen. An investigator later visited the property, found a displaced rock, a single possible footprint, and nearby scat, and noted the property backs onto a power-line corridor.

Two companions were bass fishing from a boat on a creek in the late afternoon. They heard heavy footsteps and water-splashing sounds from dense woods and motored closer quietly but saw nothing. After moving away from shore they heard a loud splash near the boat that they believed was a thrown object, followed by heavy footsteps retreating quickly. A strong musky odor had been present in the same area earlier that day.

When the witness approached palmettos to check a noise, he saw eyes, heard a growl, and watched the creature stand to about nine feet tall. In the morning the coolers had been ransacked, and the pair left the campground early the next night after feeling uneasy.

They were awakened by an ape-like animal looking into the tinted windows, touching the car, and then rummaging through a nearby dumpster for an extended period while emitting a strong rotten odor. The animal eventually walked away howling, and the witnesses drove to Flamingo where they reported the encounter to rangers.

After noticing a foul musty odor, they heard a very loud roar from behind them and fled as a large log flew over their heads. The witness went inside for a rifle, heard the thing move to the back of the house and try the door, then fled through an orange grove, fell into a swamp and lost the rifle. After looking back and seeing a creature, the witness reached the road and got help, and friends later found the back door torn off.

The witness reports seeing three individuals of varying heights, hearing frequent chattering, noticing odor, tracks and hair, and attempting to hunt them without driving them away. After about a year the visits stopped, believed to have ended when habitat regrew.

While kayaking a long stretch of river in northwest Florida near dusk, the witness heard moaning to yelling sounds and smelled a strong musky odor. Rocks were thrown from the treeline toward the water and near the kayak, while sticks and trees were heard breaking. The witness also heard coyotes and loud unidentified sounds suggesting animals fighting, felt followed for much of the trip, and never saw the source.

The witness was scouting for a redfish tournament from a kayak in Florida near NASA property in the early morning. After hearing a large splash, smelling a nauseating odor, jumping wild hogs, and hearing a powerful scream-growl with trees shaking, the witness saw a tall hairy human-like face watching from behind a palm frond. The creature charged to the water's edge about 15 feet away, stopped when the witness raised a paddle and yelled, stared again, then walked back into the woods, leaving the witness physically ill and anxious for weeks.
