The witness and two companions were walking upstream frog gigging at night when they noticed a musky odor and heard heavy movement ahead in dense brush. Three rocks were thrown from above across the creek, followed by crashing movement across the water and another rock landing nearby in the creek. An unseen very large mover then rushed toward them through thick brush, prompting the group to leave for their vehicle.
Group of campers has strange encounters over three nights near Fraser
A group camping near a river spent three late nights walking north of their campsite to look for Sasquatch. They claim loud tree knocks, howls, grunts, heavy bipedal movement and red glowing eyes, plus a shadowy figure that rose from about five feet to about eight feet tall. They also claim a glow stick left on a gravel road was later found moved to the base of a hollow tree.
Possible activity experienced by campers at a popular campground in the Mount Hood National Forest
The witness and two companions camped in the Mt Hood National Forest with a barrel of animal entrails intended as bait. Over three days they reported loud screams from a nearby ridge, nighttime wood knocks, heavy steps and snapping twigs, and found their camp table apparently bitten through. They moved the bait pile away from camp, later found most of it missing with a wet sweet dog-like odor at the site.
Camper has nightime intimidation encounter in the Pine Barrens
While on a camping trip, the witness hiked off trail at night to set snares for food. He heard rustling and sounds of bipedal footsteps paralleling him and reported seeing a tall shadow behind a tree that vanished under direct light. A large branch landed near him, prompting him to fire a flare gun as a warning, after which something large crashed away through brush sounding like a heavy person running with long strides. He returned to find his companions asleep and did not report the incident until later.
Tracks near Skamania County (2013)
In April 2013 the guest took his teenage son camping at a just-opened campground off Highway 14 along the Columbia River. During a daytime walk they found an old large track, opened clam shells out of place, a fresh vine-maple twist tucked behind a fir, an 18-inch footprint beneath it, and several pushed or tossed trees. That night in camp they heard branch-breaking, felt the tarps pulled, heard splashing, felt vibration waves, and heard two wood knocks before leaving exhausted in the morning.
Movement only in Missouri (2013)
The witness's father shot a doe in the jaw; it fell, then got up and fled while something was heard leaving in dense brush uphill. After an unsuccessful blood trailing, the doe was found the next morning on the main road with organs gone, neck snapped, and spine damage. Later the carcass was gone except for the detached jaw left on the road.
Scream in Colorado (2013)
The guest took his two young sons camping in a steep Colorado canyon to practice survival skills. During the night they heard a loud scream from across the canyon that approached their camp within a minute. For hours something circled them just beyond firelight, snapping large branches, making heavy thuds, and later mumbling, whistling and throwing sticks. The guest kept a large fire and shotgun through the night until morning.

The guest, then in early teens, was camping in a tent with a teenage friend and the friend's father at a lake-side campground in the Adirondacks. Late at night the woods went silent and heavy bipedal footsteps approached the tent, then a very large hand pushed the tent wall inward. After the friend's father mumbled in his sleep the hand withdrew, and the visitor rummaged through a cooler on the picnic table before walking into the lake and swimming away. In the morning the cooler had been moved, items were strewn, and an oily feel and stale smell were noticed.
Late night sighting by a stranded boater on the St. Marys River
After their boat motor failed, two companions camped overnight by a campfire on the riverbank. Around midnight they heard something approaching through the woods, followed by loud growling, grunting, stomping and tree knocks. One of them shone a light across the narrow river and saw a head, shoulder and red eyes looking back before it retreated, continuing noise for over an hour. They left at first light and were later towed back to the landing.

The witness camped overnight in a remote meadow in northern Pennsylvania with two companions for field research. After a brief glimpse of something moving through camp, the group heard heavy circling footsteps at night, found campfire logs moved and the fire relit, and saw a shape run up the hillside. Frightened, they called other investigators for support, stayed awake until morning, then left quickly and the witness avoided the woods for months.
Possible nighttime encounter by a couple camping near Martinsville
A couple camping alone in a state forestry heard large movements around camp all evening. Around 2 a.m. the husband saw a tall hair-covered biped beside their SUV and illuminated it before it ran past him over a gate into the woods. Later both heard knocks and rocks striking their tent for about an hour until a large rock tore the tent roof. Next morning they found partial prints and fresh bark damage before leaving.
Property disturbance in Connecticut (2012)
The witness hung meat, sweets, wind chimes and plastic ducks with cameras but never photographed the taker, finding chewed toys with straight human-like teeth marks. A porch camera later caught a translucent moving outline and a figure walking down deck steps. After whistling exchanges by a brook, a video showed eyeshine with a turning blinking head close to where he had stood.

The witness and two relatives were night fishing from a boat in a remote cove. Something in the woods threw large rocks into the water near and over the boat. They shined a light, heard fast movement in brush, and glimpsed a large dark shape going over a dune before leaving quickly.
Stranded motorist has a daytime close encounter with an adult and juvenile near Lake Mack
The witness became stranded alone when a car sank in soft sand on a remote forest road. While digging out the tires, the witness was struck by a thrown rock, then heard movement, footsteps and loud hissing vocalizations from the surrounding brush. A large wet adult creature and a smaller juvenile were then seen at close range crossing the road, throwing material at the car, before disappearing into the forest.

On the second evening the witness walked a sandy horse trail about a half mile from an earlier brush trail. He reported hearing an unfamiliar screech/growl, answering wood knocks, loud stomping nearby, and a rock thrown past him, followed by crashing in the brush. He then found a very large bare footprint that he photographed with his shoe for scale before leaving quickly without ever seeing the source.
Woman has a possible encounter involving her vehicle while driving near Beaverton
The witness was driving home at night on a dirt backroad when something struck the truck, leaving scratches and a dent on the passenger door. After calling for help, the witness with two relatives found footprints along the road and photographed them. While photographing they saw green eye-shine above the brush and a large upright shadowy outline, then heard wood knocks, growling and heavy footsteps before the eyes disappeared.
Vocalization near Pecos, New Mexico (2012)
Four young people camped by a river in the mountains. During the day they found a very fresh opened deer carcass, returned to find their camp meticulously rummaged including an animal-proof cooler, and found a nearby large tent camp abandoned and dusty. Around 3 a.m. a huge heavy presence breathed deeply, smelled of wet animal and strong body odor, moved around the tents while the forest went silent, terrifying them until sunrise when they packed and left without speaking.
Possible nightime encounter while fishing at Mogadore Reservoir
Two companions were night fishing at a reservoir when they heard tree knocks and unfamiliar calls that seemed to get closer. They decided to leave and found one of two large catfish missing from the back of the truck, then the companion was struck in the chest by a small thrown rock. Frightened, they packed up and left quickly.
Possible encounters while fishing at a lake near Easton
The witness was alone fishing and camping by a lake and creek. After noticing a foul litter-like odor, the witness heard a loud knock, whistles, and rustling, then had large rocks repeatedly thrown toward camp. After hearing an extremely loud angry whoop, the witness fled by car while loud noises moved through brush alongside the road.
Whoop in Georgia (2011)
A few days before a tree-treatment job, the witness drove to a turnaround at the end of a logging road to wait for a contact. He heard a loud snap, heavy running footsteps, tree movement, knocks, three whoops, pebble impacts on the truck, a loud yell and a throaty shriek, and glimpsed a dark figure. He left and met his contact at the paved road.
