The witness saw a figure run behind a parked semi, then saw a clawed hand and a werewolf-like face peering around it and heard a deep growl. The witness froze and then dragged the injured dog inside. This followed a period of disappearing animals and scratching at windows.

He aimed his pistol but felt it would not stop the animal, which growled showing large white teeth. He prayed with eyes closed and when he opened them 10-15 minutes later it was gone without tracks.

He heard impacts on a metal container, then saw a dark upright figure by the trees that crept toward him as rocks were thrown. He fled to his car, struggled to open a locked gate, then faced a much larger red-eyed figure that snapped a branch, vocalized loudly, and bluff-charged. He escaped in his car with damage to the vehicle.

They then heard loud roars ending in screams, heavy movement and thudding from across the river, had rocks thrown toward them, and heard splashing and grunting as they left. At the truck they found river mud spattered on the vehicle with a strong foul odor.

After being harassed by wild horses on a walk, they heard a growl near the tent at night and saw crouching yellow eyes, then after going to bed heard repeated hits on the same spot of the tent roof and his wife heard stick-banging while packing, prompting a nighttime departure.

At a rural house on the Oregon coast the household experienced repeated night howls, growls, talking-like sounds, dogs reacting, motion lights, a hand smudge, and large footprints in hard gravel. Young children repeatedly described dark hairy figures with flat noses and red eyes pawing or scratching at a bedroom window, motioning to come outside, and disappearing and reappearing.

He confronted it with a .22 rifle, and after it growled and roared he shot it in the throat, then in the hand, then multiple times in the chest as it screamed, broke saplings, and ran straight through a barbed-wire fence across a hay meadow. Later that day his father found broken trees, blood and hair on the sycamore, and blood and hair on the broken fence wires.

Shortly after high school the witness and his cousin camped beside a river after hauling kayaks and a towed canoe uphill. In the night the witness heard steps and a loud growl beside the tent and saw a large dark shadow in moonlight. Next day belongings were scattered, food was gone, and the heavy canoe was up in a tree.

The guest and his wife were sitting in a borrowed van in the driveway late at night when the wife saw someone run past and a loud whoop and growling started beside the van. The creature shook the van and was lit by brake lights, then the father fired a shotgun from the porch and it leapt across the driveway into the woods. Later that night rocks were thrown at the trailer damaging a fan and siding, and next morning bent van metal, foot impressions, feathers and a missing chicken were found.

A high-school senior walking to the bus smelled rotten eggs and saw a dog-muzzled creature with pointed ears and backward-bent legs stop in the driveway. It snarled when she gasped and sprang into the trees. Weeks later cats vanished and something struck the house, with eyes seen over a tall stump.

During a haunted trail fundraiser in a timber, youths imitating whoops and growls got a guttural growl response. When they lit the area, a creature knocked a good-sized tree over and flipped it end over end toward them, then ran away jumping off a hill with loud heavy footfalls.

With his cousin near the pond the witness felt dread and found scattered deer ribs, legs, skull and later skin with other bones gone. On another morning he heard a deer screaming, found drag marks, blood on a fallen tree and a dead deer with head bent back, while his white shepherd had no blood on it.
