Campers experience possible harassment all night in the Red River Gorge
Three people camping overnight near a creek reported prolonged howling in the evening and a close loud scream during the night. Through the night they heard movement around the tents, sticks hitting trees, branches breaking, and had objects disturbed including a tent stake pulled out. They also reported white eyeshine, a pungent odor, a dark figure seen in the treeline after daylight, and footprints and torn branches found in the morning.

An investigator hiked with two companions to the top of a rocky ridge at night to look into recurring activity. While the companions scanned with night vision and a camcorder, the investigator illuminated a sasquatch-like figure standing close below the rocks with a headlamp and watched it withdraw and walk away. The companions recorded eyeshine in the opposite direction, suggesting a second animal, and the group heard footsteps following them as they descended. They later reviewed the tape and confirmed eyeshine had been recorded.

The guest was fishing alone for catfish at night from a low creek bank with a lantern turned low. He heard something run on bare feet across a road, grab a guardrail, and slide down riprap rocks toward the creek. He then heard movement in cane, a whoop followed by a long vocalization, saw widely spaced reddish-orange eyeshine, and heard baseball-sized rocks hitting the water before it moved away.

The witness lived on wooded acreage in the early 1980s and reported ongoing strange activity over several years. He described finding a pole teepee structure and twisted saplings, hearing distant whistle-like sounds and whistling on the hill, seeing red and green eyeshine at night, pursuing unseen footsteps in snow without finding tracks, and having rocks and wood thrown. He stated he never had a clear sighting but concluded an intelligent, elusive presence lived nearby.
