The witness and seven companions were staying at a rented cottage on Spectacle Lake. On the night of July 27 they heard intermittent howls from across the lake for about half an hour, then heard a branch break near the tree line. After going to bed something struck the cottage hard, followed by mumbling sounds outside a window and a long scrape along the wall; a morning search found no tracks, damage, or thrown objects.

A very tall dark-haired figure came down the hill, waved and said hello in a flat tone, smiled very widely, then played peekaboo behind trees. It then threw large river rocks from 70-80 yards away, landing close to the witness, who fled home and later estimated its height at 8-9 feet and found a discarded jacket.

Two forestry workers measuring trees heard log-ripping and heavy footstep sounds, then had a large rotten root chunk and a smaller stick thrown toward them from an unseen source. One worker walked toward the direction of the throws and saw a tall, broad, long-haired figure standing motionless with its back turned. The witness and two companions explored a deforested and mined area with piled boulders and abandoned mine buildings. While the witness fished, his wife heard a rock land beside her on a gravel bar, followed by cracking noises like branches breaking underfoot in the forest behind them. The witness threw rocks toward the sounds thinking it was a bear, but the noises continued, so the family packed up and left without further incident.

The witness woke in bed at night and saw a large silhouetted figure with wide shoulders looking through a high bedroom window for about five minutes. The figure appeared to watch and breathe loudly, moving slightly when the witness moved, then turned and left. The witness ran to a parent, who went outside, saw nothing but noticed a strong smell. By morning two pet rabbits kept outside were gone, with no damage to the cage.

She turned to see a large round head looking in through an open casement window. On a later return to Snelgrove Lake the guest said one of the creatures urinated over the picnic table and porch area where the men urinated and then picked up a companion's fishing rod case from the ground and threw it against the cabin, which he read as territorial remarking.

The witness as a young child was camping near Warsaw Caves with a friend and the friend's father. After dinner the two children left camp to search for the father and reached a forest road clearing with birch trees. They watched a small thin dark-haired figure climb down a tree, screech, run on all fours, toss a stick, then continue bipedally behind a tree and disappear as the woods fell silent. They returned after dark and the father dismissed their account.
