They shone flashlights across the river and saw an upright human-like creature bring down a dead tree into the river and move in the water. A couple camping alone in a state forestry heard large movements around camp all evening. Around 2 a.m. the husband saw a tall hair-covered biped beside their SUV and illuminated it before it ran past him over a gate into the woods. Later both heard knocks and rocks striking their tent for about an hour until a large rock tore the tent roof. Next morning they found partial prints and fresh bark damage before leaving.

The next morning a previously intact rotten stump across the river was found split with half lying at the river's edge.

At dusk in 2012 the witness was sitting alone in a tree stand during archery season. He heard a loud scream from a nearby swamp, then heard heavy footsteps circling behind him where he could not see. An object was thrown through the trees over him and a stone struck the tree he was in, after which he yelled toward the sounds and left for his truck.

The witness was in bed late at night when barking dogs prompted them to go outside. They saw a dog run under the porch and something retreat into the woods. After shouting and tossing a small stone into the trees, the witness heard a shriek/howl and the stone was thrown back to land at their feet. The witness ran inside, then returned with a flashlight to find twisted vegetation and snapped branches and noted a foul smell.

The witness shot a doe behind the house at dusk and left it overnight to retrieve in the morning. The carcass was gone in the morning and was later found about 120 yards away along a tree line where branches were bent about six feet high. The deer had a broken neck and torn-open chest with most organs missing, unlike coyote damage familiar to the witness. The witness felt watched and eerie, left the kill, and has avoided the area after dark since.

At about 2 a.m. during a break in a storm, the witness heard something at the backyard wire fence and went outside armed with a relative. They heard footsteps and loud cracks first mistaken for gunfire and fired weapons toward the sound. The witness was bow hunting from a tree stand in Ocala National Forest. About 45 minutes after daylight he heard a loud crash he interpreted as something large thrown toward him from about 250 feet away, followed by a very loud scream that continued as the source moved away for at least 1,000 yards. He stayed in the stand out of fear and did not see the source because the forest was too thick.

After finishing dinner while camping, the witness and a companion were sitting by the fire when their dogs ran into the woods and returned frightened. The witness illuminated a large dark figure leaning from behind a tree about 30 feet away. A large rock was then thrown from the woods over the fire between the two people, the witness fired two shots into the air, and the figure was heard moving, breaking a tree, splashing across the creek, and ascending the opposite hillside. The pair left most gear behind, drove home, and returned the next morning to recover equipment and examine the broken tree.

The witness and a companion were clearing branches in a logged area behind the house when they found rock piles and ten small grass bundles containing field mice. The dogs became agitated and a thrown rock struck the witness's hand. No animal was seen, but wood-on-wood knocking was heard several times over the next few hours.

On the trail he saw a widely spaced pair of large eyes at about his own height that stayed after he fired a handgun into the ground, then left to the side through dense brush with loud crashing. The witness stayed awake afraid until daylight and left quickly in the morning.

An investigator hiked with two companions to the top of a rocky ridge at night to look into recurring activity. While the companions scanned with night vision and a camcorder, the investigator illuminated a sasquatch-like figure standing close below the rocks with a headlamp and watched it withdraw and walk away. The companions recorded eyeshine in the opposite direction, suggesting a second animal, and the group heard footsteps following them as they descended. They later reviewed the tape and confirmed eyeshine had been recorded.
