He struck it squarely with his car at highway speed, feeling a violent impact that was heard by his girlfriend on the phone. After stopping he found no damage to the car and no airbag deployment, but extensive blood on the passenger side, yet no body, blood, hair, or raccoon at the impact site. He also describes a brief dull flash at impact and time seeming to slow.

At age 15 the guest was fishing alone at a creek near his father's house when he heard whoops and saw a large hairy figure behind a sycamore. He confronted it with a .22 rifle, and after it growled and roared he shot it in the throat, then in the hand, then multiple times in the chest as it screamed, broke saplings, and ran straight through a barbed-wire fence across a hay meadow. Later that day his father found broken trees, blood and hair on the sycamore, and blood and hair on the broken fence wires.
