Man has late night sighting north of Redding
The witness was driving north and pulled off near Edgewood to eat and nap in the parked car. The witness awoke around 1:30AM to a rock hitting the hood, then turned on the headlights and saw a tall chocolate-colored creature watching nearby. After about 20-30 seconds it walked away into brush in a few long strides, and the witness left and later contacted authorities.

The witness and a relative were camping in a remote wooded area when the witness was awakened around 3 a.m. by noises around the truck, including an ice chest being knocked over and a violent impact that rocked the vehicle, followed by a loud piercing scream-like sound. The relative also woke, and in the morning they found the camp in disarray with a dozen eggs missing, the empty carton later found away from camp, and a dent in the truck. No creature was seen and no tracks were found, and the pair stayed up until morning before leaving.
Campers have frightening experience in the Marble Mountains Wilderness
In summer 1977 the witness and a companion were backpacking and camped at a trail junction near a creek in forested mountain country. In the middle of the night they were awakened by loud crashing of logs and rocks being hurled in the streambed below. Bipedal footsteps then approached up the slope to behind nearby trees, with heavy breathing heard high in the air and a humph sound after the witness shouted, before the creature walked away parallel to the creek.
