Man recalls primate-like vocalization and rocks thrown at a fishing area in the Rvierside Conservation Area
Three companions walked to a boat ramp on a river at night to watch the water. They heard movement in brush across the water, then heard two rock impacts nearby on the bank and in the river. They then heard an unfamiliar ape-like yowl and huffing sounds from the same direction. They saw nothing and left the area immediately.
Recollection of seeing a huge bipedal shadow while camping that steals food near Steelville
The witness was camping alone in a tall tent when something large approached at night. A tall shadow with broad shoulders was cast on the tent by an outside lantern. The visitor opened food containers, ate bread, growled, overturned a cooler and carried off meat before leaving toward the river where vocalizations were heard. Large footprints and teeth marks were found the following morning.
Man recalls incident while camping as a teenager near Cedarville
Two teenagers camped on a mountain logging road were harassed by thrown sticks, loud grunting and tree-banging sounds, and a strong foul odor. When they shone a light into the woods about 25 yards away, they saw a very tall fur-covered figure that ducked behind a tree. They put out their fire and fled down the trail, saying the figure followed them most of the way back.
