BFRO Investigator videotapes encounter in Daniel Boone National Forest
An investigator hiked with two companions to the top of a rocky ridge at night to look into recurring activity. While the companions scanned with night vision and a camcorder, the investigator illuminated a sasquatch-like figure standing close below the rocks with a headlamp and watched it withdraw and walk away. The companions recorded eyeshine in the opposite direction, suggesting a second animal, and the group heard footsteps following them as they descended. They later reviewed the tape and confirmed eyeshine had been recorded.

The witness was camping overnight in the front yard with several children when rocks rolled into camp and loud howls were heard. Around 3 a.m. something heavy approached on two feet with a strong animal odor, bumped the witness's tent, then lifted and shook a child's occupied tent before running back into the woods.

A deer hunter in scent-masking clothes and a ghillie suit was set up on a rock overlooking a saddle at daybreak. A large dark ape-like animal threw a stick that landed behind him, then charged after he shouted and pointed his muzzleloader. He fired in front of it to deter it; it stopped, stood, grunted, and a smaller one emerged crying before both left. He abandoned his gear and found it ransacked the next day.

In August 2003 the witness left relatives fishing to hunt ginseng on a ridge near Yatesville Lake. He claimed hearing wood-like knocks and rocks moving through the trees, then seeing a large upright hair-covered figure watching him from across a hollow. He said he spoke to it, then hurried down the mountain hearing crunching steps and more thrown rocks behind him, and then packed his family out of the area.

Two people were sitting in a parked car by the lake late at night when they saw a large hairy figure approaching on the road. After turning on the headlights the figure ran into the woods, followed by a strong animal odor, loud crashing and scream-like vocalizations. A log was then thrown with enough force to move their car, prompting them to drive away.

The witness reports waking at first light as a child while sleeping on the floor of a relative's house and seeing a figure pass the bedroom window, then look in. The figure reportedly reached an arm through the open window, took jewelry from a dresser, and fled when an adult moved in bed. Adults in the house reportedly said the creature had been around for years and was harmless.

The witness and a companion were driving to work in the early morning when they saw an animal squatting by the road near dumped garbage. They watched it in the headlights as it moved backward into the road, looked at them, then squatted and leaped off the road into a ravine. A torn bag of garbage was found where it had been kneeling.

The witness was home watching a baseball game when a strange noise from the back porch prompted investigation with a pistol. The witness reported seeing a large dark upright shadow-like figure running toward the woods, firing shots, then seeing it again near an old stable and firing again without hitting it. Afterwards the witness found a porch freezer broken into with frozen food scattered, plus white hairs and ground impressions.

The witness was watching television at home at night when a loud disturbance on the porch drew attention. Looking outside, the witness reported seeing a large white hairy creature holding a rooster, which it threw against the house before moving behind the house. The witness pursued it with a pistol and fired twice as it ran out of sight up a gravel road.
