Camper sighting at night, rocks thrown, on North Fork of Coeur d'Alene River near Enaville
After finishing dinner while camping, the witness and a companion were sitting by the fire when their dogs ran into the woods and returned frightened. The witness illuminated a large dark figure leaning from behind a tree about 30 feet away. A large rock was then thrown from the woods over the fire between the two people, the witness fired two shots into the air, and the figure was heard moving, breaking a tree, splashing across the creek, and ascending the opposite hillside. The pair left most gear behind, drove home, and returned the next morning to recover equipment and examine the broken tree.

He felt the truck shaken gently and then violently, then saw a large hairy upright creature take two strides into nearby young trees. He smelled a bad odor and heard it leaving, then drove away without stopping until Montana.

The family ran to camp, set up a string-and-can perimeter alarm, then heard growling and rattling around the perimeter before packing up and leaving.
