Very close observation of a road crossing at night near Quinwood
While driving down a mountain road to work in the evening, the witness slowed for what looked like a bear. The animal stepped over a guardrail, looked at the stopped vehicle, then crossed the two-lane road in two steps and went up the mountain into the woods. The witness described it as very tall with dark matted hair and was shaken by the encounter.

While driving on I-64 at dusk, the witness saw a hair-covered figure run through heavy traffic and across the median without slowing. In October 2009 the witness was cutting timber on a neighbor's farm when he noticed a black hairy upright figure about 200 yards away by a cedar grove. He watched for about three minutes as it steadied itself with its left hand and stepped into a ditch before disappearing from view. He later drove to the spot and found caves and thickets.

They turned around in a nearby lot but did not see it again. Later they found flattened grass in long strides, possible footprints up a hill, and hair caught on a fence wire.

The witness and a young relative were walking by a lake at night while camping when they heard a commotion. They watched two very large black upright figures and then a third taller one stripping branches and bark from trees for about 15 minutes from about 125 feet away before running back to their camper. The next day the witness returned to find stripped trees and limbs piled at their bases.
