The witness was mushroom hunting alone on a ridgeline when they heard rustling in brush below their position. They froze and scanned but saw nothing, then heard a single sharp knock described as like a bat hitting a tree. The sound was not repeated.

Late at night the witness sat alone on a back patio watching a meteor shower. From a distance to the south he heard two loud whoop-like vocalizations he had never heard before. The sounds startled him and he went back inside. Shortly after the whoops, coyotes were heard briefly and then fell silent.

The witness was making coffee at about 3 a.m. when she saw widely spaced large yellow eyes looking through a window, with a dark width blocking the outside light and shifting side to side. She backed away and waited in the dark until daylight while a rank skunk-like odor entered the house. After daylight, she and a relative found a strong odor in the yard, vegetation matted and crushed under the window, and squirrel corn missing.

Late at night three companions pulled over by an overgrown archery field to look for deer and noticed green eyeshine wide apart just above tall grass. The source of the eyes stood upright to a great height, looked toward them, then walked into the adjoining woods. After leaving, they returned for a size comparison with a 6-foot companion walking toward the treeline while the others watched from the truck; the figure reappeared, stood up and towered over the companion before leaving into the woods again.

Late at night, the witness saw a large black-haired bipedal creature on elevated railroad tracks behind the house. The creature walked along the tracks, then sprinted and jumped down into brush on the far side. It remained upright while in view and moved very fast, and the witness was certain it was not a bear or another person.

The witness was riding a bicycle through a farm field in the afternoon when they spotted a large hair-covered creature about 300 feet away moving toward a cornfield. The creature stopped upon noticing the witness, looked back, then ran down into the woods, stumbling and making a grunt-like sound. The witness rode home to report what they saw, but their relatives did not believe them.
