Fisherman has up-close daytime encounter with a hairy hominid near Clayton
The witness hiked to a riverside fishing spot on a sunny late morning after a cold night. As he came up an embankment he saw a large hairy upright animal standing in the sun about 30-40 yards away and watched it for about 15-20 seconds before speaking to it. The animal then avoided eye contact and left quickly uphill, after which the witness heard rapid knocking sounds like a drum roll from the ridge. He camped there overnight without seeing it again.

The witness was asleep in a tent when rocks struck the tent. He looked out and saw a large hair-covered figure in nearby brush staring at him, then shouted and woke his tent companion. In the morning the group found disturbed brush and stones beside both tents but no footprints, and left instead of staying another night.
Hiker has nighttime sighting at Minnehaha Falls
In May 1998 the witness hiked alone to Minnehaha Falls near Lake Rabun and remained until after dark. After noticing a bad smell and a squatting figure he mistook for another hiker, he approached and saw a very tall, dark-brown, hair-covered biped that stood, walked away with long strides, then stepped toward him before leaving. The witness drew his service pistol and shouted, after which the creature walked away, and he left the area without telling anyone at the time.
