Mid-morning sighting by soldier hunting west of Fort Carson
The witness and his young child were turkey hunting in the morning when the witness noticed movement about 600 yards away. He watched through binoculars a tall dark figure walking upright through open grass for a minute or more before it disappeared into brush behind a rise. He estimated it was 6-7 feet tall and covered several hundred meters quickly without running.
Hunter's elk calls ellicit vocal responses from multiple animals
The witness and a relative were elk hunting from a ridge overlooking beaver ponds near dusk and called for elk. In response they heard loud, prolonged howling and whining vocalizations from multiple animals on the opposite ridge, repeated over about 10-15 minutes. They also heard splashing and saw ripples on a pond but saw no animals, then left quickly for their vehicle.

While stopped at a picnic-area parking lot on the Pike's Peak road, the witness stood atop a large rock formation while a parent prepared to take a photograph from below. The witness reported noticing a black, large-bodied creature in motion about 100 feet behind the parent and shouted for the parent to look, but the parent did not turn. The creature was gone within a few seconds. The witness stated the animal was not a bear.

The witness was driving a tractor-trailer south on a dark highway in the early morning when headlights lit a figure on the east side of the road. The figure first appeared bent over, then stood upright as the truck approached, showing wide shoulders, an ape-like face, and yellow eyeshine. The witness passed at highway speed within moments and could not discern fur color.
Multi-witness account of an observation of a strange creature on a ridge
The witness claims to have been stopped in snow-related traffic on Highway 24. After stepping out of the vehicle, the witness noticed another stopped motorist pointing toward a hillside. The witness then observed a creature on a ridgeline about two hundred feet above the highway but could not follow it due to ice and fear.

During a nighttime military training patrol the witness became separated from the unit and cut through a wooded area to intercept them. Rounding a bend in the trail, the witness encountered a tall light-brown hair-covered figure standing on the trail about 10 feet away. After mutual observation the figure showed a startle response, then crouched and moved sideways off the trail while watching, kneeling behind a bush where it became hard to see.
Campers report finding large footprints in the snow
In the late 1970s the witness and a companion were winter camping near Colorado Springs and went exploring on a sunny morning after breakfast. They found very large human-like footprints in deep snow and followed them for a short distance. They stopped where the snow became too deep to continue, while the tracks continued upslope without breaking stride. They later told friends and family but did not discuss it further after meeting disbelief.
