Daytime road crossing seen near Ashland
The witness was driving on a paved road through pine forest on a clear afternoon and crested a hill. A tall creature with broad shoulders and reddish-brown matted fur emerged and crossed the road just ahead of the car in a few fast strides. The witness reported a good view of the body but did not get a clear view of the face, as the creature did not look toward the car.
Camper Awakened by Loud Wood Knocks in Talladega National Forrest
The witness was camping overnight with a scout group on a very cold, windy night when extremely loud wood-on-wood knocks were heard from north of camp. The sounds came as three pairs of knocks and were heard clearly over the wind, with no other campers in that direction. Two other adults were also awakened and the group could not agree on a natural explanation. The witness did not investigate that night because of the weather and concern about frightening the children.
