The witness walked to the top of a levee to look for a snake seen the day before. On the other side in a cottonwood tree he noticed a large ape-like creature with one leg swinging below a branch, and they made eye contact. After watching briefly he ran down the levee without looking back and told a relative, and the family then avoided the levee.
