Footprints observed in sand bar along river
Account
The witness walked to Sunset Falls on the east fork of Lewis River to check for steelhead and noticed a freshly dug hole in frozen gravel on a rock bench. On returning, he saw what looked like a bipedal trackway crossing the gravel bar from the ledge. He and a companion examined the tracks by the water, finding two clear five-toed impressions in sandy soil that were wider and longer than their boots but shallow due to frozen ground. He speculated the maker had knelt to drink, and noted no casts were taken.
