A soldier turned bow hunter stayed alone overnight while elk hunting near Mount St Helens after his partner left. After midnight he woke to a loud scream or howl about fifty to sixty feet away that then moved away. He was frightened, left the next evening without waiting, and later found online recordings that matched what he heard.
