Possible footprints found by a hiker on Mt. Ascutney

On May 24, 2015 the witness was hiking for pleasure when she found two very large footprints near a tree by the trail. She photographed and measured the impressions, then found additional large prints and a possible knuckle impression on her way back to the parking area. She returned several days later to make plaster casts, but rain and leaf litter made the casts poor.

Two large prints near a tree by the trail, heels sunk deep with toes splayed outward like duck feet
Measurements: 15 inches long, heels 3-4 inches deep
Two additional prints to the right of the trail on the way back, one smaller inside a larger one with toes embedded in bank
Measurements: about 10 inches, about 15 inches with 10 inch inside, three toes 5 inches across, 5x6 inch parallelogram shape
Deep impression interpreted as knuckle print from a leaning creature, plus parallelogram shape

Plaster casts made days later after rain, poor quality with toes broken off
An investigator spoke with the witness by phone for about 90 minutes and received track photos.
About 14 months later an investigator visited the same location, found no tracks, noted odd tree manipulations and forest silence, and was told by station staff of no known reports.
