During the March 2026 flap, investigators arrived within minutes at a home where an older woman had just seen a figure from her front window while watching TV. She described a reddish to light-brown figure moving along the edge of the woods about eighty to one hundred yards away, staying inside the treeline where storm clearing created an opening before heading toward a swampy area. The witness, a self-described nonbeliever, insisted she knew what she saw without labeling it. Investigators found no tracks in hard ground but noted possible travel corridors nearby.
