Sasquatch sighting in Washington (1891)

Account

A young newly married woman was at a seasonal fishing camp on the reservation when she was seized and carried into the mountains by a male Sasquatch-like being. Witnesses reportedly watched the abduction but did not shoot for fear of retaliation. After spending time in the mountains digging potatoes for her captor, she escaped when she saw horsemen and rode down to a temporary camp, which then broke camp and fled to the valley.
