Sound of rocks smashing together and hitting trees heard
Account
The witness and at least one companion were on foot near a thicket after visiting a stone foundation. They heard several distinct thumps and impacts nearby, including one that shook a live tree and set a lower branch swaying though nothing was visible under the tree. The witness later interpreted some sounds as a rock striking a fallen trunk and a rock smashing against rock at distances from about 30 feet to about 100 yards.
