Crashing and snapping sounds heard by campers
Account
Just after sunrise the witness and a companion lay in their tent in a remote clearing when they heard loud snapping and uprooting sounds moving toward them through dense forest. Heavy slow footsteps approached to within a few feet behind the tent, paused for 15 to 20 seconds, then angled off into the forest. The witness briefly followed on foot but saw nothing; later inspection found several small trees snapped or pushed over where the sounds had originated.
