Three riders were on horseback on trails above a large spring when a large monkey-like creature jumped from a tree above one rider. It knocked the horse and rider to the ground and struck the rider repeatedly before running back into the woods. The victim suffered a breakdown and thereafter avoided riding and hiking in that area.
