Still hairy figure seen in a field by a motorist near Springfield
Account
The witness was driving on High Banks Road toward the highway in late morning and slowed to look at an object in a pasture to the right of the road. The witness described a large dark long-haired animal-like object standing motionless in the open field about 70 yards from the road. No photo was taken because of a following car and a doctor's appointment, and no limbs, head, or movement were discerned during the 20 to 25 second observation.

An investigator spoke with the witness by phone and in person and recreated the drive to estimate the viewing duration.
A few weeks later the witness asked the property owner about animals in the pasture and learned no cows were in that pasture on the sighting day.
