Researchers report large boulders thrown
Account
A group on an overnight campout in high country heard what sounded like rocks thrown toward them in the evening from about 50 yards away. Around 1 a.m. a companion woke the group reporting a loud tree or large limb break despite no wind, and the area was described as unusually quiet. After packing to leave the next morning, they again heard rocks coming from a nearby rock slide, estimating five boulders striking a tree about 75 yards away.
