Sighting by dog walker and more recent incident on Stone Church Trail (Wayne NF) NW of Shawnee
Account
A couple of days after hearing unexplained howls on an evening hike, the witness stopped on the same trail to let her dog drink. She heard rustling on the ridge above and saw a very large dark-furred bipedal figure walking among trees about 50 yards away. It disappeared over the ridge crest before her husband could look, after being visible for several seconds.

Video of dog recorded on same trail contains a distinct wood knock clearly audible; witness states footage exists
Small trees found twisted/broken in ways witness felt a person could not cause
Measurements: 4-5 inches in diameter
An investigator spoke with the witness by phone and documented additional details about distance, duration, lighting and a later return visit to estimate height.
