The guest was bikepacking alone on the C&O Canal and camped at the hiker-biker site near the Route 34 bridge. Around 11 pm she was awakened by very loud prolonged splashing in the Potomac River that sounded like hands smacking water. Another bicyclist camped below confirmed hearing the same hours-long noise, which the guest now believes was Sasquatches fishing.
