Account

At age six in 1981, the writer wandered toward a tree line while the grandfather filled an oil tank. An older woman ran out screaming to get away from the woods, then a large crash like a tree coming down was heard and felt. The grandfather sprinted, scooped the child up, and the woman warned of things that grab children.
