Eyeshine in Pennsylvania
Account
After losing chickens to wide feather piles and one with a broken neck but no bite marks, the witness hung a cut chicken in a tree and watched at night with a red-lens light. He heard branches breaking and heavy steps that stayed outside the light, then saw red-amber eyeshine at standing shoulder height pacing and splitting into two. Insects went silent before the eyes blinked out and heavy steps retreated uphill. The bait hung untouched for a month.
