Couple walking reports sighting, odor

The witness and his companion were walking toward his house when they noticed a foul odor and the witness felt watched. While sitting on the front steps they heard a harsh growl and grunt, and the neighbor's dog cowered and whimpered. The witness then saw a very tall, dark-haired, long-armed creature run across the neighbor's lawn in a hunched posture and disappear. No footprints were found, but the smell persisted for about two hours.
