At dusk three people were at a lake launch ramp making loud echoes and whistle imitations. Something large was heard moving through brush toward them, followed by a loud cooing sound nearby. After retreating to their car, they saw eyes low at the treeline in a light, exchanged soft whistles with the source, and left after it whistled back.
