The witness was walking home at night after gigging frogs near a lake when hearing heavy footsteps and smelling a strong foul odor. A tall reddish-haired ape-like male figure about eight feet tall stepped from behind a tree about ten feet away and watched silently for about two minutes. The witness moved quickly toward a relative's house, saw the figure following up a hill, then ran to the house. The figure stopped at a barbed-wire fence about 30 yards away where the witness and three relatives watched it for about 20 minutes before it turned and walked silently back toward the lake.
