The witness and a companion were hiking cross-country along a little-used creek bed when they saw a tall bipedal figure moving away from them across a rocky open area. The figure briefly looked over its shoulder, showing a flat face with no antlers, then continued leisurely up the mountainside. The witnesses did not approach and instead retreated the way they came, hiking out after an uneasy night.
