Sasquatch sighting near Minburn, Iowa (1984)
Account
The witness and a companion were catfishing from a high bank on the Raccoon River at night. They heard something crashing through the woods, splashing into the river, crossing and re-entering, then approaching them while breathing heavily. They shone a dim flashlight on a wet, dark-haired, human-shaped head in the middle of the river that looked at them and then submerged. They left the area and later ruled out beaver, muskrat and deer.
