Vocalization in Maryland (1976)
Account
Home alone in late summer, the guest heard a continuous undulating moaning from woods a half-mile west lasting hours. He walked to a neighbor's driveway to look, the moaning stopped, maple trees shook violently with no wind, then a loud roaring scream vibrated through him. The shaking stopped as he left and moaning resumed until early afternoon, also heard briefly by his mother.
