Sasquatch sighting near Marquette County (1976)
Account
The witness, then a teenager, was grouse hunting near the family hunting camp and walked to a bear bait station on a small knoll. About 50 feet away he saw a very large dark hairy animal facing away and feeding, which he first assumed was a bear but noted a strange head shape, no visible ears or tail, and a strong wet-dog odor. The animal then ran away on all fours with an odd chimp-like gait unlike a bear. As he walked back to camp, something paced him from cover for a couple hundred yards, stepping when he stepped, until a chainsaw started at camp; he reported it to relatives who were skeptical.
