Account
The witness and a friend camped near Madison after driving from northern Chicago for clear stargazing weather. While laughing and joking by the fire behind a picnic bench, a tremendous crashing impact slammed into the ground right behind them, startling both. Moments later an intense downpour began despite clear forecasts, nearly extinguishing their fire before stopping.
Summary drafted by AI from the source report and checked by code before I publish it. The witness's own words remain with the publisher — read the original report .
