Hikers hear vocalization
Account
The witness was hiking the loop trail around Lost Lake with a companion when both heard a distant, short howl from across the lake. The sound began low and guttural and rose to a high pitch, but was very faint due to distance. They stopped to listen on a quiet fall afternoon and later felt it matched older Klamath recordings.
