Growl near Long Lake, New York (2013)
Account
The brothers paddled to a campsite and fished up a braided stream to a beaver dam. After hooking a bass, two nearby trees began shaking violently while a loud roaring and growling continued without stopping. They backed the canoe out for ten to fifteen minutes until the sound stopped abruptly, then returned to camp.
