The witness had recently moved near the Caribou National Forest and repeatedly visited the area with a partner to look for Bigfoot. Over several weeks they found large footprints in snow, exchanged whoops, saw a figure peering over a cliff, noticed eyeshine that rose high, and found a crude shelter with a broken deer carcass. The climax came on a March night when something very tall and dark crossed a trail opening in three steps while a mountain lion fled and grunting and a whoop were heard.
