The witness, then a child, walked down a farm cut to pick wild berries with her dog. She came upon a tall black-haired figure crouched picking berries about twenty feet away. After a surprised mutual stare, she waved, it grunted, then turned and walked quietly into birch forest as woods sounds returned.
