Man on horseback smells odor, horse reacts fearfully
Account
The witness was riding horseback through timber on deer trails while looking for an old mine. The horse stopped, snorted, acted spooked and refused to go forward while a strong foul odor was noticed. The witness retreated downhill, dismounted to look back uphill, saw nothing but reported a feeling of being watched, then returned to a nearby ranch.
