After the frightening events, the witness began visiting a different side of the preserve several times a week for two years. He left gifts and found footprints of many sizes, brief tree-peekers, moved objects, opened wrappers, and a fence bent to avoid cameras. He also found a vine trip-wire arranged at deer height that he interpreted as a hunting aid.
