While hiking with his wife and young daughter riding on his shoulders, the witness set the child down and she screamed as something jumped down the hill and ran into a hollow. It stayed with them in the gully to a road rest stop, where he saw it standing fifty to sixty yards away before an ATV approached and it vanished leaving two prints.
