Daylight sighting by a roofing contractor near the Mississippi River, south of Dubuque

Early one morning the witness was standing beside a house making a phone call for work when a tall, hair-covered figure stepped from behind a tree and looked toward the witness. Only the upper body was visible above very tall grass before it ran quickly across an open field into surrounding woods. The witness estimated its height from how much of its body showed above the grass.

The witness returned the next day with a relative to view the location from the field and found no clear footprints, only trails in the grass.
An investigator conducted a phone interview with the witness and summarized the surrounding topography near the river valley.
