Whoops heard from the forest birds become quiet
Account
The witness and his wife stopped at the Ape Caves with their child. While the witness sang to make an echo, they heard loud whoops from the woods and noticed local birds fall silent. After the witness imitated a coyote and the wife banged wood together, more distant whoops and a loud grunt were heard. They considered elk as a possibility but felt uneasy.
