The witness and his father were driving on the highway after elk season when the witness spotted a large tan hairy figure standing on a stump about 80 yards away overlooking the bay. They stopped in the road and watched it for about 15 seconds with binoculars before it noticed them, stepped off the stump, and quickly disappeared into thick timber. The witness described it as a very tall, broad, male-looking biped with short tan hair that did not resemble any known animal.
